The Rogue Valley is rich with community spirit and innovation. From farm-to-school programs and Double Up Food Bucks to CSAs and school meals, local partners are creating more ways for everyone to access healthy food. Neighbors are stepping up too—over 60% of residents have shared food with someone in need.
Still, too many families face barriers. Food insecurity and diet-related health issues here are higher than the state average, and affordability, transportation, and access to fresh options remain daily challenges.
This working group builds on our strengths to tackle what’s ahead—making food more affordable, improving access, boosting food literacy, strengthening emergency preparedness, and supporting the skills to grow and prepare food. Together, we can ensure healthy food for all in the Rogue Valley.
The Action Plan for Group #1 focuses on improving affordability, access, food literacy, emergency preparedness, and support for growing and preparing food.
